FAQs

Show all answers

Solar power plans can help make a positive impact on the environment. Reliant's 100% Solar and Solar Payback Plus plans offer options that can help reduce a customer's carbon footprint or provide them with bill credits for excess electricity produced by rooftop solar panels.

As long as there is no outage to the grid itself, you will have power even when the sun goes down.

Our 100% Solar plan is designed for customers to benefit from solar energy without solar panels, while the Solar Payback plans requires customers to already have solar panels installed.

To be eligible for a Solar Payback plan, you must:

  • Install and activate (or have activation scheduled for) a qualifying solar energy system at your home with a rated capacity less than 50 kW.
  • Have an existing Interconnection Agreement with your utility (or TDSP).
  • Have a meter installed and configured by your TDSP that measures the inflow and outflow of electricity to and from your home.

You will still experience outages if the electricity grid in your area is experiencing an outage. If you are currently experiencing an outage, please contact your Transmission and Distribution Service Provider (TDSP) to get your power restored as quickly and easily as possible.
