3. Solar farms capture the sun's energy and convert it to electricity, and then we match your energy usage with that clean energy in the form of renewable energy certificates (RECs)1

With Make It Solar, we match 25%, 50% or 100% of your monthly electricity usage with Texas and national solar renewable energy certificates. Nothing changes about your electricity plan besides supporting clean solar-sourced energy whenever you flip a switch.

If you determine you do not wish to be a part of the Make It Solar program, you may cancel your participation at any time by calling 1-866-222-7100. Cancellation will be reflected within one to two billing cycles.

No. With a qualifying plan powered by Make It Solar, you enjoy the benefit of easy, affordable solar electricity — and do your part to support the solar energy industry — without the hassle of installing rooftop panels or any special equipment.

Yes. Since your home is connected to the electric grid as always, as long as there is no outage to the grid itself, you will have power even when the sun goes down or skies are cloudy.

With the Make It Solar program, Reliant will match your monthly electricity usage with Texas and national solar renewable energy certificates every month. That means your electricity usage supports the production of solar energy without the hassle of installing panels.

1 Qualifying Plans do not include electricity plans with renewable content greater than the statewide average for renewable content (content information is available in the plan’s Electricity Facts Label).

2 Your participation in the Make It Solar program will end at the same time as your participation in the qualifying electricity plan through which you were enrolled in the Make It Solar program ends or until your retail electric service with Reliant is discontinued. Enrollment in the Make It Solar program will continue if you move from one qualifying plan to another without a discontinuation of electric service by Reliant. You may cancel your participation in the Make It Solar program at any time by calling 1-866-222-7100. Cancellation will be processed by the next business day and will be effective at the end of your then-current program month. Changes will be reflected on your Reliant bill in up to two billing cycles.
